Figures and Tables Instructions

Tables

• Create tables using the table function in Word (not as images).
• Number consecutively (Table 1, Table 2…).
• Provide a clear title and footnotes explaining abbreviations.
• Do not duplicate data already in the text/figures.

Figures

• Upload each figure as a separate file.
• Acceptable formats: TIFF, JPEG, PNG (preferred); vector formats if available for diagrams.
• Minimum resolution:
  • Photographs/clinical images: 300 dpi
  • Line art/graphs: 600–1200 dpi
• Remove any patient identifiers.
• Provide figure legends in the manuscript file (not embedded in the image).

Image integrity

• Any image enhancement must be applied to the whole image and described if relevant. Manipulation that misrepresents data is not permitted.

Permissions

• If reproducing/adapting any table/figure from another source, authors must obtain written permission and cite the source.
